Meshy LED
For the Signify Challenge, Iris Bekkers and I created Meshy, which is a soldering pattern for creating 3D freeform LED sculptures. These sculptures can be controlled by an Arduino with 6 columns turning on and off.
The challenging part of this build was not the soldering, although it was quite difficult to freeform solder the 0805 SMD LEDs. Instead, modelling the 3D shape that serves as a jig for the wires proved to require a lot of trigonometry and spatial insight.
This project helped me develop in the areas of Math, Data & Computing, Technology & Realisation, and Creativity & Aesthetics.
