Biodegradable shoe

For the course Creative Mechanical Engineering, Anna Leeman and I designed a shoe that would be biodegradable through its choice of materials, such as PLA and cotton. The shoe had to follow certain requirements and constraints so that it could be worn and would also feel comfortable for the wearer. We created this shoe in roughly 3 weeks.

As we’re creating this shoe for someone specifically, this is a great chance to develop my skill in working with users and thus developing User & Society.

This project has mainly been a development for me in Technology & Realisation. I can do CAD modelling much more quickly now, and I’ve also learnt how to communicate my ideas about a CAD model better to my team mates.

This is a work in progress.
