PCB design
For the course Sensors for Physiology, I dove deep into PCB design with KiCAD. I had previously used KiCAD to create schematics for the course Creative Electronics, but I hadn’t really explored its PCB capabilities. Surprisingly, I found PCB layouting to be quite addictive.
My main drive behind wanting to create my own PCB’s was that I wanted to fit the main electronics inside a small box for aesthetics purposes. As I wanted to create a desktop breathing aid for relaxation, it was important for the whole device to remain small, with the main emphasis on the shape of the electronic sculpture instead of the base.
Exploring the possibilities of KiCAD has helped me develop in Technology and Realisation, while thinking about what a user would find attractive helped me both in the area of User and Society and Aesthetics and Creativity.
